A little B-2 Mishap

….and here again is a lesson for all: you are always pulled off towards the edge of the runway on the high drag side. Flat tire, missing wheel, or gear collapse…You know which way you are going.

glad no one was hurt.

 

Side note fun fact: Managed to keep this one on the runway- but it was a handful. I was responsible for a NOTAM that day, however.
I shut the runway down for about 6 hours at Kerville TX.

Good times.

Does it? I think I can see a complete B-2 on the grass surrounded by a number of vehicles, people and pieces of equipment. Without the 'news' stories it looks like a burst tyre incident

That's what happens when you buy planes that cost 700million+ each (900 million with parts, etc), and $135,000 an hour to fly.  There's probably not a part on it that costs the taxpayer less than my house...:blink:
