dmthamade
This one sat on the shelf of doom for two years. Took it out this week and finished it. Don Edited June 30, 2021 by dmthamade Hartmann52, florin13, Greg W and 14 others

dmthamade
Man, i shouldn't post so close to bedtime, i left a whole lot out. This is the Revell offering of the Dragon kit, have to say, it is a nice kit. For OOB it has a well done pit, i added Finemolds belts and IIRC Airscale gauges and kit decals. Landing gear and wells are nicely detailed, Fit of everything was great, except for canopy. The instructions are a "little" off. Some of the parts in the pit are shown in wrong location(magazines and racks for the 20mm cans) There were other things in other areas, but memory fails me. The faults with the Dragon version instructions are well documented, some carried over to the Revell sheets. Decal sheet provided two versions plus airframe stencils, pleasantly surprised they worked really well, even the Wespe/Wasp nose decal. Did do some touch-up with black and yellow, but very pleased with them. The reason it went to the SOD is the canopy. A nice multi piece assembly that would be great if you wanted to show an open canopy display. I wanted this closed up, but trying to have all the parts align right without smearing the clears with glue was quite difficult for me. No smears, but alignment was off on 3-4 pieces. Put it away. Fast forward to this week, i managed to snap apart the poor fitting ones and reglue. Not perfect, but enough for me. The yellow i used for the fuselage stripe and wing surfaces is wrong. Didn't use Gelb 04, dumb thing is, i had the right color in the racks... Don Troy Molitor
