Congratulations on an excellent build - do you have a list of what changes you made to the original kit as I have a similar project in mind and this would be really helpful. Thanks

Dear Vulcan

sorry I have no list but more than 500 pics documenting the build.

I‘m currently writing some kind of list/report which hopefully someone likes to publish.

Some of my modifications cannot be seen like the fuselage frontend.

Other things you can not or hardly see are as follows:

Control linkage for upper and lower oil cooler flaps

F4-CD191-F-AE01-4516-AD3-C-4-D4121663-F5

Oil filter, twin-fuel pump, throttel linkage assembly to engine, starter crank shaft and hose for air cooling of generator (which is also missing in the kit)

8-C76-C7-C9-AF3-F-4-DD7-946-A-F5-F4101-D

Some close-up to the above mentioned additions and the progress in detailing the oil filter and fuel pump.

BA9315-A1-9784-4-E76-9860-154023-A31-B7-

Here you can see the interruptor gear and its linkage to the machine guns as well as further detailing of engine and weaponary deck.

The braided line was just put in place and got a silver color later (metal sheathing for electrical lines to suppress radio interference)

Normally the "pig nose dashboard" front end is not F-4 like - but as you will not see it I decided not to spend time on that issue.

Color coding of lines & hoses

There were main colors such as

green=coolant

brown= lubricant

yellow= fuel

blue= air/oxygene

red= safety/warning

You find combinations:

blue/brown = oxygene&lubricant --> in this case crankcase ventilation

brown/red= lubricant&safety/warning --> pressure oil circuit

red/white dashed = marking of separation points in case the engine has to be separated from the fueslage

Thanks for the pictures - brilliant effort & attention to detail

Thank you guy's for your words and comments.

Another view on the plumbing that „got lost“ with the assembly of the fuselage:

View from underneath the engine. Here the fuel-injection pump is still missing.

A quick view to the cockpit. The map-holder was scratched from tea-light aluminium sheet metal. Box below is for flare-ammunition. The oxygen-breathing device was adapted. Instruments were left-over parts from Eduard that I bought for my Dora-9 build.

Several electrical lines were added and some Eduard placards as well.

Yes I know - this is not the correct F-4 instrument panel. It’s Yahu‘s panel for the G-2 that is really great looking.

The glasses were „futured“ . For the yellowed ones (for more liveliness on the panel) I used an older varnish for automobile metallic paints - good results but be very careful and patient in application;-)
The revi-sights were re-worked and a lens was installed on top of the revi-body and a targeting spike (?) to its right side.

Thanks for watching

Nicely done.

Always liked the look of the African campaign colour schemes, both Allied and Axis.

Hi Andy

Thanks for your comment, I fully agree.

I think the allied colour schemes even propose more “possibilities” for paint modulation and effects.

Hello Nils,

WOWZER ! :wow:

What a WONDROUS  Bf-109.

Love the Engine(MY Favorite part of an aircraft)..  :wub:

Looks pretty IMPRESSIVE.

:goodjob:

SUPERB  model all round.

:clap2:

Thanks Maur5137 for your welcome and comments - especially about the engine.

I'm happy it turned out like that, as initially I did not intend to display the engine or to open the lower cowling.

That changed during assembly process and finally I'm glad I did it that way.

Enclosed some more pics showing the plane and engine.

This pic shows very last stage - I forgot two lines in the pressure oil circuit to have a F-4 - so they had to be added ;-)

Thanks for watching.

Nils

Excellent build mate, those details you have added are spectacular, all leading to a very exceptional beauty. Great work!!

Danke sehr / Thank you.

Hope I got most of the important details so that everybody can recognise it to be a Bf 109 F/Trop.
