I have not tried a panel line wash yet from fear of it being too strong but am open to suggestions on a suitable colour.

Depends on what you're using as a wash. I use artists watercolors so I can dilute them. If you can dilute whatever you're

using, start with a light grey and work from there. Watercolors are nice because they can be removed quite easily if you

don't like the result. I'd also start on the bottom where the contrast would be easier to see .

So this build has been a battle, going on for nearly 5 years now. I wasn't really happy with the finish of the paint and really botched the positioning of the insignia masks.

I started painting with MM enamels which I have always enjoyed good results with, I think these are too old  (purchased around 2008), no longer available and I don't have enough to respray the model.

I am leaning towards Gunze Mr Color as the successor  the colours accuracy is pretty good and are readily available locally.

Here is the starting position, The oven cleaner is arriving on Monday!!

Perhaps you should try first on a piece of scrap material, but when I need to strip my figures from paint because I am not happy I cover it with Dettol floor cleaner and keep overnight in an enclosed environment (i.e. box).  Next day the paint just washes off rightup to the metal or resin the firgure has been manufactured with.

SMS paint is pretty good. It will look like you need to thin it more to spray it straight from the bottle, but don't, it will spray just fine.

what about the accuracy of the RAF and RLM colours? There isn't a lot of information about these.
