Ordered a book a week ago.  Turns out it had to come from England, yet it arrived yesterday.  Very pleased with the quick delivery and the price was good too.

 

 

I've only had time to have a quick look at it, but it is a very similar book to the author's Macchi book, which is a very detailed read and well illustrated.  Looking forward to sitting down to read this.

Indeed. This is a very good book as all the others he released. He made four for Crecy (Sparviero, Macchi, FIAT and Reggiane fighters) and one for Chandos (German fighters in Italian service). Highly recommended.

Arrived today from Korea.  Looks very nice.  Lots of unused parts like doors, other armament bits, and parts for a 4 bladed tail rotor.  Unfortunately, the only front canopy included has a large section cut out of it for the TOW sighting unit, so you’ll pretty much be limited to a TOW armed version in this boxing.

Just found! 1/18: p51D, Me109G6, Spitty MkI, FW190d9, and AVG P40B. I also found posters of Revells USS Hornet with Doolittle raiders, and the B25 over Japan. Need to look into frames.

It is another really nice book from Duke Hawkins.  - Really makes me wonder why there is still no Rafale in 1/32. It has some really pretty lines to my eyes and besides being available in 3 variants, it is now also in service with numerous operators. Plenty of options for different boxings.

I have seen a couple of aftermarket guys having to kill products because of notifications from Dassault to stop. We also saw the sudden death of the 1/32 resin kit that was ready to be shipped - But we have kits in the other scales so makes me wonder.. Well, I hope to see a Rafale soon. Its a great looking aircraft.

 

I really love the HMH publication books. Along with my "library" from Reid Air Publications and Eagle Aviation (Their "Viper under the skin" book is among the most used books in my stash - but I also build a fair amount of Vipers 😉), they are in the top 3 of pictorial reference material on the market in my opinion. 

 

- Mr. Duke - if you happen to read this, perhaps a book on the Saab Gripen? 😉 - Lynx Helicopter perhaps..

Hi Niels completely agree with you, but about your question my little finger tells me that the answer is certainly on Dassault's side.

I think that some producers don’t care and are not afraid of copyright issues. For others, typically in Europe, this is far from being the same reality. This probably explains that...

That may be however, Revell managed to produce a series of popular Rafale kits in 1/48.. looking at their latest kits in 1/32 I would not mind one from them

I know but what could be agreed yesterday had possibly changed today. Such agreements are typically very restrictive in their terms and I would not be surprised they specifically limit the scope to specific marks in a specific scale and probably for a defined timeframe.

Seems like a lot of speculation which of course can be either true or not. 

All I know for sure is that I want a Rafale in 1/32 to go with my new book 😉

For sure this is fully speculative as I do not know anything about that specific license agreement. However I know that Dassault (as some other brands) is far less souple than they used to be regarding the reproduction of their products. For years companies considered that situation of scale models as a way to get some free advertising but now they are rather thinking of that as a secondary source of money...

This was delivered while I was at NATS. While standing in line at the Squadron check out, the fellow ahead of me was buying a P-51 kit and was told about the missing pieces and handed a little plastic bag with the missing parts. I asked if that included the kit that was delivered to my home the day before by UPS. It was confirmed and I was given the parts too.
