The visiblocks will likely be 3D printed clear resin, about 2.5mm thick. The hatch cover will be closed, so the interior detail just has to convey the impression that the turret isn’t empty. On the slicer: Thanks for looking in. How long does that take to print?
LSP_Matt
Was that East Timor in the photos? The buildings look familiar. Looking good! Cheers Matty

For comparison, I’m 150 ish hours into a 390-odd hour print on the filament printer. 3 hours ago, LSP_Matt said: Was that East Timor in the photos? The buildings look familiar. Looking good! GMK
Version 3 of the turret with the lifting eyes & hinge details added, plus some bolts etc. The hatch cover is a difficult shape & needs more work. Here's v3 alongside v1. Happy with the design, need to work on the supports. On the hull with a representative F88SA2. If I put the rifle on, it’ll have to be a straight F88 with night aiming device. A concerted effort to resolve the turret hatch cover was successful. What a nightmare. The turret design has evolved significantly this week. On the hull. Just need to refine the visiblocks. Ryan
Are you creating welds I see on the lower final drive panel? How is this done?

I’ve swept some lines so I can add welds later, if that makes sense? The visiblocks are identical around the turret, so only had to model one & clone it. Pretty happy with how it looks on the hull. Have to model the gunnery flag holder on the turret rear lifting eye. Now time to finish the driver’s hatch. Thanks for looking in. GMK
Been on a bit of a printing spree with different versions of the T50 turret. The original intent was to print the visiblocks in clear resin & slot them into the turret. After a bit of thinking, I updated the design to include visiblocks into the turret proper. I’ll see how translucent green resin prints. Thanks for looking in. Jeff T and Ryan
GMK
Initial result looks pretty promising! Maybe a little too green, but on the right track. Thanks for looking in. Model_Monkey, Ryan, Jeff T and 2 others
GMK
Here’s some examples of the evolution of the T50 turret design. The “I’ll print the visiblocks in clear resin” design: The “stuff it, all in one it is” design: The translucent green test print highlighted that the placement of supports inside the turret was a thing if the visiblocks were going to be part of the print. Had to adjust the placement to avoid the back/inside of the visiblocks. Thanks for looking in. patricksparks and Ryan

Part of the journey has been getting a new resin printer up & running. I connected the bottom length of 16 track links into a single run. Inside view. And with the 1.2mm metal tubing I’ll be using to mimic the track pins. Thanks for looking in. GMK
I wanted to see how longer items printed in resin. After positioning the track shroud on the build plate on the slicer, it looked something like this. 14 hours later. Straight af. Pretty happy. We’ll see if I can repeat it for the RHS shroud. GMK
Had a lot of difficulty with the old printer successfully printing the roadwheels. New printer, new slicer. Cleaned, but not cured.
