Surprised there aren't any Russian/Soviet aircraft designs shown here yet.  There are some weird contraptions here though - keep them coming:)


Didn't the French design something similar to the Westland Wendover?

Here's my favourite, the Waitomo Airtruck, or Bennett Airtruck, of 1960. It was designed by Luigi Pellarini to make use of a maximum number of surplus RNZAF Harvard parts, and was essentially a flying hopper for aerial topdressing (application of superphosphate fertiliser to hill country pasture). Only two were made (ZK-BPV and ZK-CKE), but it was no competition for the Fletcher Fu24. It looks odd, but the design worked, and same layout was used in the successful Transavia PL-12 Airtruk, also designed by Pellarini.
