nmayhew
hi guys, winding up lead wire to simulate springs and wotnot is a huge PITA and I never get it to look convincing anyway, so I saw these and wondered has anyone used Albion Alloys turnbuckles as insulators on antenna wires? TB2 which are 4mm long and TB1 which are 3mm long cheers Nick D.B. Andrus
BaldEagle
Yes I have. With a bit of EZ line they look fine to me. Another thing I've experimented with is the winding off of the end of an old electric wound guitar string. Tel nmayhew
Woody V
I thought I read somewhere of a place that sells tiny springs, but a quick search comes up dry. Anyone know about these? nmayhew
Out2gtcha
Not necessarily for the straight type, but for the bumpy/small style antenna insulators I occasionally use a mix of CA gel and some Microballoons which are already white For springs I normally seek out Japanese model car sites. Hiroboy is a great site to pick stuff up like micro springs: Micro-spring and even some car muffler spring sets can be adapted I have found https://www.hiroboy.com/Micro_Spring_004mm_x_03mm_P953--product--3283.html https://www.hiroboy.com/112_Muffler_Springs_08mm_Small_Type--product--4142.html dennismcc, nmayhew, Woody V and 4 others 4

Out2gtcha
FYI, Hiroboy also has a great selection of things like teeny tiny tubing, multi colored tiny wire, hose connectors and elbow connectors. All good detail stuff used for car engine details, but can be great for what we do as well. Isar 30/07, Woody V, dennismcc and 1 other 3

Bob MDC
Albion Alloys is a manufacturer and distributor if you drop them a line and find out the nearest retail the sell to. Bob Out2gtcha
