George
I have an old tool 1/32 Revell Hawker Hurricane and I'm missing one of the clear plastic position lights. I could file down and shape a clear plastic sprue or 3D print the light is there an easier way to create one?
ivanmoe
Testor's made what amounted to "canopy cement" that dried clear and could be used to fabricate windows and such. I've had good luck using it for landing lights. However, it might prove difficult to successfully apply the stuff in the instance that you cite, because of the rather more complex shape. Perhaps you could employ some sort of mold, but then you'd have to get the part (which has adhesive qualities) out of the darn mold!
George
Thanks. I bought some 1/48 position lights that may work.
Bob MDC
Rough out a bit of clear sprue so it fits in the landing light, I normally drill out the center and and the required colour for the light glue in place sand to fit then polish, I've used this many times. Hawkwrench
If you have a clear green and clear red toothbrush you can cut off a chunk and sand it down to shape. You can also use the leftover sprue from a car model kit. Its sprue is clear red. Tim Woody V
