Aviacom Posted February 26, 2021 Share Posted February 26, 2021 Hi Guys, I’ve got BOTH the Kitty Hawk Mirage 2000 kits, I’ve basically fell in love with them! So, to do them as they deserve, I’ve decided to do the single seat as a Greek aircraft and keep the twin sticker as a French aircraft. For the Greek 2000, I already have the Grand Models Wheels, Resin Cockpit and Greek Fuel Tanks, as well as the Reskit Exhaust, Procal Decals for the Greek markings. For the French 2000D/N I have the Reskit Wheels, Exhaust and the Quinta Cockpit set. So, again, as this type isn’t really my forte, I’ve some questions that need answering if I can pick your knowledgeable minds please? Aftermarket air to air missiles for the Greek 2000C? Aftermarket air to air Missiles for the French 2000D/N? Whats the Laser Designator Pod for the French twin seater with the GBU’s, and is there and aftermarket version? Im looking at loading the twin seater up with some Eduard Brassin GBU’s, but on the centreline rack they can be carried as a side by side pair, what is the side by side rack they are hung from, and is there a resin version? Ejection seats for the twin seat 2000D/N, which aftermarket seats? Mk 10 Tornado seats? I have the MRP Celomar Colors for the Greek 2000 aircraft, but now I’m looking towards schemes for the French Twin seater, I’m not really liking the two tone sand scheme really, it just doesn’t do it for me, so I’m leaning towards the Grey/Green, or even a Two Tone Low Viz Grey if there is one? I’d also like to know exactly what colours the Grey/Green are if possible please or the Low Viz Greys are if anyone knows them? Any decent aftermarket decals for these schemes? Basically, I want to real make this pair absolutely exceptional if possible, but they have to be right! Hence the questions. The first thing I did , was to buy the two Walkaround books from Eagle Aviation and HMH . Very useful , especially the Eagle for the Greek Version . The Renaissance cockpit is pretty nice too for french -5. As for the colors, for the grey blue HAF I would recommend AK real color AKRC235 for blue, AKRC252 for grey. For grey blue 2000D, im afraid there is not a perfect match direct from the jar. discus Posted March 4, 2021 Share Posted March 4, 2021 (edited) For the french twin : no targeting pod on the 2000N, only the D can carry it. The third pod provided by KH is the Damocles. It could be fitted on the D but KH does not provide the correct pylon and it seems its lengh is wrong... Mirage 2000D can carry also one GBU-24 or two GBU-22. For the 2000N, you can go up to 4xGBU12 (use Eduard, they are really nice): 2 on centerline and one on each side of the front fuselage pylons. I'd recommend avoiding L'arsenal. I was rather disapointed with their recent quality. You can contact moncoteying(at)outlook.fr . Ask him for his catalogue. He as a lot of 3D printed stuff for mirage 2000 including, cockpits, mica missiles and pylons (better quality than l'arsenal imo, ladders, wheels, etc) And if you want some decals, Berna, FFSMC and FCM provides some sets. Ive got both the C and the D/N kits. Magic 550 Missiles and Mica Missiles, what color are they? Light Grey? (Which Grey is best to use?) or White?? Thanks.
