Ryan
Any metal shop workers on here? I have some plate i'd like to cut down for sanding blocks, I have a mini mill but am at a loss on how to hold etc. Double sided tape to a substrate maybe? D Bellis
Stainless is some hard stuff, known for dulling cutting edges. It might be a good idea to check out fabrication shops in your area. A lot of them will throw a small job like that into their chopper for free and have you out the door in no time. Better that than potentially dulling out the bits for your Mini Mill? Bob MDC
Engineering shop is the way to go a small job for them but a day plus bent tools for DIY. In the UK we have some on-line machine shops where you can order by pc and sent to you, I use these a lot for perspex for mould boxes, great service no complaints !! dmthamade
Stainless steel is pretty hard stuff. Use SS in exhaust systems at work. We use specific sawzall blades, die cutter wheels or a plasma cutter. Don't know dimensions, but as said, fab shops, maybe a car repair shop. Ryan
Thanks guys, I might just turn the pcs. I have into flat sanding plates. May have a go at the K&S brass stock for smaller sanding fingers, D Bellis
Woody V
Find a sheetmetal shop that builds restaurant stuff like counter tops, vent hoods, etc. Sheetmetal should be cut with a shear. Ryan
