Greg W
The last few times I have painted with my airbrush, I've noticed much more dust and lint than usual in the paint on the surface of my model. As always, I wipe down the model with isopropyl alcohol and use a tack rag just before spraying. Normally, there is not anywhere near that much stuff contaminating the paint. Turns out, I had not noticed how much the roll of paper towel (Brawny) I was using was shedding a ridiculous amount of super fine fibers, all over the place. The fibers are hard to see generally but are very noticeable when they settle into the painted surface of your model. Any recommendations for a better type product/brand of paper towel for use around the spray booth? What do you guys like for cleaning a model before painting and general cleaning, during and after airbrushing? Cheers, Greg
ivanmoe
Greg, Kleenex makes a product called a "bathroom hand towel." https://www.kleenex.com/en-us/products/hand-towels It's not a paper towel and it's not a Kleenex. Rather, it's this really strong sheet of absorbent material. I've never measured one, but they appear to be about 9" square. I mentioned that they are strong. As evidence, I've accidentally run a used sheet through the wash on a couple of occasions. Then, I've accidentally put it through the dryer. In both instances, the product emerged from the ordeal intact. Sure, the sheet was pretty well crumpled up, but it had absolutely survived the laundry. I didn't reuse the sheets afterward, but I don't see why I couldn't have. The product is sold at most grocery stores. -Moe Edited January 13, 2021 by ivanmoe Greg W

Greg W
Thank you Moe and Bob, just what I wanted to hear. I will pick up both products based on your recommendations. I will not have regular paper towel in my workspace again!

Tim That would work Tim, but I think a lot of us use Kim wipes after cleaning the model. They have a slight anti-static effect that I find keeps dust away (mostly) Ernest Greg W
