Rob Colvin
What color are the intakes all the way back to the fans? Are they the same as the underside color.....natural metal....some type of gray/white? Thanks, Rob
Breaker
I've got reference photos showing all sorts. Going with the underside colour isn't a bad call though, a lot of my photos seem to show that.

thierry laurent
Typically it looks they were painted a very light grey color over a yellow primer on Warpac 9-12 MiGs. However, As Andy mentioned, they were many variations.

is it windy yet?
I am working on one in an unmentionable scale, and could not find anything conclusive about consistency. Since I can’t find a close up for my Iraqi mig. I’ve dropped the iron curtain over them so to speak. More realistically aluminum or perhaps composite, I went with ramps closed. R Palimaka
The MiG-29 book in the Kagero "Topshots" series has a photo of the length of the intake from the rear (on page 32 if you have it). It looks to be a light grey, but hard to determine which grey because of the lighting. It seems to have a bluer tint than the underside grey. ...not very definitive, sorry.
