Kyushu J7Wi Shinden, Zoukei-Mura 1/32

A BIG Thanks to all of you!

Problem is I´m an old Humbrol fart so I need to "translate" it to something I can understand as Humbrol, Colorcoates or Xtracolor.

I figured out it must be Gunze Colors as they are so common in all kits from that part of the world.

But I think I have it nailed by now.

I´m going to use the old White Ensign Colorcoates WWII IJN/IJA colors.

Once again Thanks for your help!  :thumbsup:

Cheers! :beer:

The first parts of the cockpit glued together;

I glued the rear shelf and the side panels together, the clear instrument panel are just added (not glued) for a bit more stability;

The armament in this aircraft is 4 30mm cannons, heavy stuff….

IMG_7081

They are really well detailed but not drilled open so I got two brass sets from ABER…

WOW…..

”The first cut is the hardest” as Rod Stewart sang….

But I stopped worrying….

The Instrument panel comes as a clear part, I covered the back side with a piece of masking tape and used circular masks from a Maketar set for the instruments….

Several smaller things primed with Alclad Black Microfiller Primer….

The instrument panel primed with the same paint….

The Chassie, or frame, whatever, You can see what it is, primed ….

My Dad got me the 1998 Hasegawa catalogue when I was 10 or 11 and the 1/72 J7W kits really grabbed my attention (I never got either). To see the type getting this treatment in 1/32 is very exciting!

Thanks all!

Yes, I follow the color suggestions given in the ZM manual as I don´t know very much about this aircraft.

I agree It seems a bit strange with a German color in the cockpit, but I think it makes sense after all.

The ZM manual lists and shows the cockpit colors as "7094 Green Sky" which corresponds to Nakajima Cockpit Green.

In my kit, there are no English text in the manual, only Japanese and I could not read what colorsystem they used, so I took a guess based on the pics in the manual!

Wrong guess obviously, but I know that Japanese cockpits usually are green so I should have been more cautious.

I bought the kit directly from ZM as soon as It was released, obviously they have altered the instructions since I got it!

Bummer, but now the cockpit is completed and painted in RLM66 and so it have to stay that way, I´m afraid.

I´ll probably will do an "in service" aircraft anyway so it will be a "What-could-have-been".
