Phantom2
Hi All! This will be my build for ”Air Superiority”, slightly started but not much done. This is Zoukei-Muras´ first kit and it looks outstanding! The big box are crammed with goodies…. More to come soon! LSP_Kevin
Cool project, Stefan! You don't see too many of these built. Just a correction, though: the aircraft manufacturer was Kyushu, not Mitsubishi. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyushu_J7W_Shinden Kev mpk and D Bellis

I have never seen any 1/32nd ZM kit of the Shinden built in real life. There have been a few built in magazines, but it´s been very long between the builds, perhaps 2 or 3 since the kit was released. Shame really, as It´s such a beautiful and unusual aircraft, I only hope I can do it justice with this model. Phantom2
As usual, the build starts in the cockpit…. First I have to choose which seat to use, the one without any straps or the one with the straps molded in? I choose the ”strapped” seat, It looks quite good, actually, almost as good as a resin seat. The cockpit side panels built up… The cockpit floor… The engine started…. The Turbo/Compressor stage (?) Distributor, ignition ring and the mount for the seat pan…. The long propeller axle and the engine cooler…. The cooler is very nicely detailed…. Only thing left is to figure out which colors to use… I can´t read Japanese and I don´t know what color-system ZM refers to, I THINK it´s Vallejo or Gunze... Phantom2
I had the engine already partly built up and the next step was all the small exhaust pipes. The short ones were already molded in the back plate, but the 9 longer ones had to be glued one by one. It looked as a daunting task, HOW would i get these in place? it looked very hard to do, but the pieces just snapped in place! Incredible engineering and fit! The gearbox and the magneto pack glued to the front of the engine (faced to the rear). The back face (facing forward, confused….?) of the engine with all the exhausts and the machine box (?) in place. More exhaust pipes to go… The long propeller axle done…. The large radiator…. Fuel tank done… I repeated some old pics with new, better ones. Stefan LSP_Kevin, Landrotten Highlander, BradG and 5 others

Stefan Stefan, I’m not sure what the five digit numbers starting with “7” are - possibly some Vallejo reference but they are not Model Air paint codes. The small lines at the bottom of each section that read “Mr. (some Kanji) C” and then a number are definitely referring to Gunze Mr Color lacquers. For example, if you Google “Mr. Color C79” (third from the top on the left of your chart) you will will find gloss primary red. Hope this is helpful. denders
Stefan, Go here: Model Paint Conversion Charts - ModelShade As Alex said, it appears that the small text is Mr. Hobby/Mr. Color numbers. At the link you can cross reference the colors. Per this conversion chart, C79 crosses to Model Air 71.003, 4 out of 5 stars. But for example, C58, the conversion chart doesn't show 72007, but 72007 is a Game Color that looks close. I have a Vallejo color chart that came in one of those combo paint packs that shows Model Color, Game Air, Model Air, and Game Color paints. I really think that the7XXXX numbers are Vallejo, but it is a mix of the different paint lines.
