Grant_T
Hi all, here's my entry. I originally bought this kit wanting to build a P-40 my great uncle flew in Italy but it's the wrong model. So as I also have the decals for Gloria Lyons, that will be my subject. This one also has a very local connection. Here's the box: I'm looking forward to this build. It's a little known fact that there were 4 "Gloria Lyons" aircraft. 3 x P40's and 1 x F4U-1 Corsair. The Ventura Decals version is the last Gloria Lyons P40, being a N model being NZ3220 I too have a Gloria Lyons build to do, using the Trumpeter P40N, but plan to build her as in this photo from the RNZAF Museum after arrival back from the forward theatre and repainted in NZ Foliage Green/NZ Sky Grey NZ3220 Gloria Lyons Regards Alan Grant_T, Anthony in NZ, Martinnfb and 2 others
Grant_T
And finally a bit of progress. I gave it a bit of wear because the pictures above reveal NZ3220 to have been through a bit. LSP_Kevin, Martinnfb, Gazzas and 8 others

I'm writing a new book and it is due with the publisher on April 1, so I'm working around the clock on that right now. I've promised myself a full month off after that though, so I will get to this then. Martinnfb and KiwiZac
KiwiZac
Lovely work! It's been great to see more models of NZ3220 popping up since John's death. Conservation of the real '20 is coming along beautifully and a couple of weeks ago reunited the wing and fuselage (Dave McDonald photos): I can't wait to see her, the Tiger Moth and Mosquito all together in the OAHC at Easter! KiwiZac
Some more inspiration: recently the real NZ3220 was out on the Omaka grass after having her replica bombs fitted: And here with stablemate NZ3043, which is being restored to fly at Omaka: Photos by Gavin Conroy/Classic Aircraft Photography. JeepsGunsTanks
KiwiZac Were the pics taken with a calculator or something? It's like flashback to when high speed internet wasn't a thing and photos on the internet were small, and nearly worthless. I mean the subject is awesome, love it, love it being restored, just wish I could see it. Edited May 11, 2021 by JeepsGunsTanks
