HL-10
In 1969/1970 there was a TV series about aliens coming to earth and abducting humans to use as spare parts to keep their dying race alive. The show was UFO and centered on the secret defence organisation SHADO, set up to combat the aliens. The producer of the show was Gerry Anderson, who also produced, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 & Stingray. The shows miniatures, and effects were masterminded by Derek Meddings, ably assisted by Mike Trim. Among the numerous fantastic designs was SKYDIVER. A nuclear powered submarine which could launch a supersonic interceptor to shoot down any alien craft that got into the Earth's atmosphere. I have been a BIG fan of Gerry Anderson's programmes and have slowly been making a collection of the vehicles from his series. Some are commercial kits, others are "garage kits" and some I have scratchbuilt. My latest addition is a studio scale (3 foot long= 1/36th) SkyDiver. It is a garage kit from Studio2 Models, in resin & fibreglass. It came with water jets so I fitted some radio control equipment and it has been patrolling my local pond on the watch for aliens! On patrol Thanks for looking Angelo chrish, chukw, Grant_T and 18 others 20

mpk
I had all the die cast models when I was a kid. I wish I had them now. I do have the series on DVD. My 1st broken arm was due to falling while running home to catch the show. It ended way too early and for me, Space 1999 wasn't up to par. Great work here.
