yes , indeed , keep your used ( or new  ) toothpicks . Here is a simple , and efficient way to paint jet exhaust nozzle ..........a good idea I picked up on the French Forum "master 194" 

a good idea must be shared

Was going to ask the same.......and what to use to remove whatever is used to stick them on?

the guy uses " white glue" I don't know if that means something to you , but it's easy to remove the glue residues , a little bit like the maskol

Thank you Alain for posting this technique. I wanted to try it right away when I read about it but I thought that there must be a better way to attach the toothpicks than by white glue.

 

After scratching my head for a bit, I ended up using stiff wire to make clips that grip over the lip of the AB. They just clamp on and stay put if the tension is correct. The resin can is from the Eduard Brassin 1:48 F-4E exhaust set, which I am using on a Hasegawa eggplane. Late tomorrow I will post pics of the painted exhausts on my thread in the Non LSP Works part of the forum.
