Question about the upcoming Imagination Land GB as it relates to Sci Fi.  What constitutes a LSP, specifically the “Plane” part?  Atmospheric craft only?  Spacecraft?  Hovering vehicles, or must have aerodynamic lift surfaces (wings)?  Very confused.

I actually never noticed that one sneak through, but I have to say I'm not too keen on it as a GB topic. It'd be simpler and less confusing just to do a straight out "non-LSP" group build. Anyway, seems it's a bit late now. I too am confused!

That is a little confusing.  That being said, about five years ago we all agreed that rockets, missiles and space craft sifi or real are not LSP's. IIRC we narrowed this down to being fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft only.  It came up when addressing where to put a V2 build in the forums. I think the only exception was the space shuttle because it's a space ship but also a glider. I agree with Kev that it would be easier to just have a non-LSP GB that includes LSP's too.

Don't over think it. I included sci fi in case someone was keen on building say, the Revell 1:29 X Wing that has been reissued, or the new studio scale Tie Fighter, which I think is 1/24. or even the Battlestar Galactica Viper which are in 1/32. I'm not including things like Gundams or space battleship Yamato's.

 

In the event anyone is unsure if a subject qualifies just make a post or send me a message and I will let you know yes or no.

I missed the original discussion, but I would think it would still have to be atmospheric travel. SciFi part could mean the old Japanese scifi like the Valkyrie aircraft, or Luft 46 paper projects or similar or even modern X-planes or concept craft. Even the Battlestar Galactica prequel had an atmosphere-bound early Viper with forward swept wings. And in Star Wars, wouldn't the Speeder qualify?
