I doubt there were two identical Corsairs because this Corsair wasn’t a 214 aircraft and was only dressed up for the publicity photo when Boyington was between tours. That actually makes sense to me, so thanks for that. Now I have to wonder why they didn't make them match each other. The EagleCals set I used stated that the 86 Corsair was used for publicity photos but never actually flown by Boyington. When viewing those kill marks, I wondered why some were backwards, so I googled and found photos of two different configurations.
