Hey guys, how about a big Flanker...?

Sorry I'm late, but still, there is plenty of time for that big bird..... not planning to do fancy stuff nor scratch... for now..

I'm going to use Wolfpack pit, Linden Hill decal, Aerobonus pilot and maybe I'll try some Reskit after market

like their Exhaust and twin store carrier.... .:hmmm:

Had that huge box on my top shelf for over 10 years or so.....

Wasn't sure about doing the version in the kit, until I got my hand on that Linden Hill sheet from a resaler at Ajax contest.

The ''George and Dragon''..... Blue 43.

So let's start timidly.... with the pit..

NvHitvEl.jpg

I always start with a solid XF-69, once dry, I'll put a few layers of clear coat before the wash step...

Will do more this week-end, thanks for watching and have fun.

OH, am I getting behind everyone ?.....    :piliot:

Noap, I'll put this one on high gear soon....

Now my little update on the pit, started as usual with XF-69 Nato blk. and two coat of X-20 gloss clear.

wait for a week then, proceed with a Model Master wash of the pit color, in this case Flanker Med. Blue 2131.

I put my wash, and wait 15 minutes between every layers (3 or 4), at the first run, it define very easily all the contours,

the more layers you do, the easier it'll be to paint between the dial whitout making a mess...

At that point, I use a very very fine brush and non diluted paint, from the pot.

bWjPAih.jpg

Once all done, I use a Fine Sharpie  for defining edges and correct over paint....

HirMU6xl.jpg

Time for a little Vallejo dark wash, direct on the flat paint for the pit, water base, it dry very fast and softly with no ring.

V2sC4nNl.jpg

Was about to put the instruments on the panel's, but I couldn't find the kit decal sheet...

had no choice but to take those from another kit, that's the gap you have to fill when you go with resine pit, NO DIAL..

C5HVewJl.jpg

Manage to have a set of Airscale Modern Jet in case I mess up, too bad they don't make any for Russian Jet.

Will do some more this week-end, hope you like it and have fun.

Hoping to resume this build some time during the holydays.

Hi everyone, so far so good, I'm back on track and happy to resume this baby....

Like most of their kit, Trumpet always have molding seams to take off and lucky me, not that many on this one...

RbAJ4mZl.jpg

AIres wheel bay in, intakes on and the fuselage close, not much trouble....

SXzLJoTl.jpg

Still need some work on side panel, the pit came out good, I'm pretty happy with it...

A new trend I'm starting with my models,  I'm putting pilots into it, it looks so more alive,

those are from Aerobonus.

A pretty tight fit, just like te real thing.

But first I need to takle that one weird thing..... putting the stabelizer at the right place..
I know, I said a quick build, no scratch.... but what were they thinking..

L3ax1tZl.jpg

And do my best to come with something closer to this...

Oh boy, the GB is almost over..... here's my quick little update..

Had a few difficulty with he Wolfpack pit but nothing too serious...

''Dang it's a huge model..''

XqkVar6l.jpg

Some dry fit and a lot of touch-up, some shading and it should be Ok...

Going to be nice.

ec6jwObl.jpg

Black basing before the pit color..

WrKFu3ul.jpg

And still today, was wondering if I was going to scratch that curtin system....:hmmm:

JMQ9SlXl.jpg

It seems that not every UB had them.

ih1SBiAl.jpg

Defenitly not gonna help speed-up my build If I decide to go down that road.

BSSGTK6l.jpg

Meanwhile, I decided to go on with AK paint, my first shot at those, we'll see...:wicked:

UQbz3pml.jpg

The tuff part was to find the right color on the rudder for the Blue band...

1WesGE2l.jpg

As per Linden instruction, the Blue has to match decals 43...

And lucky me, after a few attempt (6)... I end up with a perfect match.

maybe i should get myself a ticket of 6/49 or Mega Million...lol.   :frantic::yahoo:

dS3KIiHl.jpg

And on the boring part, masking canopy.....

qE3d4ZKl.jpg

I will do my best to bring more during the week but definitly going to be a close call to finish in time for this one.

Thanks for watching and have fun.

Not a flush fit...? that's ok, I never encounter any  Aires that does anyway...lol

AayZ1Nzl.jpg

But nothing that some styrene can't fix....

BMuzg09l.jpg

KOIEpTFl.jpg

Yeah, that's more like it.

5mCgQypl.jpg

And with a little finising touch, it will be just fine.

8L0GRC2l.jpg

Meanwhile I decided to go on with the curtain system, since I'm pretty much certain I won't finish in time

why not be fancy....lol.. :punk:
