Loving this creative and beautiful WIP! And super clean work too, nice catch with that side panel line. I will never look at my completed Phantoms quite the same way as before :-/

Cheers,

Marcel

Thank you very much Marcel, your work inspires me....sorry to point out the panel line issue :ninja:

Tried to find the GT Resin Intakes set, but all were out of stock.

Then I noticed our very own Milosav1956 who posts on here has done a set.  So I found a set on ebay through his shop and brought them.  A Google of images shows them to look very nicely done.

I have decided to potentially widen these a few mm rather than use the WH ones and making them narrower.  Hope I am on the right track here...

Czech out his site...

I will report on them when they arrive

So, after much deliberation I cut the rear engine section out of the WH lower wing.  I cut it here because I will be able to put the belly strengthening strap/Doubler over the join. I will splice this into the plastic kit wing.

I still need to move the aux intake doors forward one bay as they are in the wrong place

Here goes nothing...

Heck, I got stressed out about relocating the mounting holes for the outboard pylons on my build. It's easy to overthink things.

Yes I must look into that relocation point, Chuck mentions it in his build

Judging by your fuselage splice I think the odds of you pulling this off are pretty good

thanks, I think most of it is in my head...my wife doesn’t help when she sees me hacking up an expensive conversion

If you pm me your email address I would be happy to send you the PDF file that GT resin sent me. It's hard to read but the info is there.

Any good photo's of those belly straps?

I havent gone through my files yet to check what I have.  I have a feeling I will be soon LOL

I will let you know what I find.  There was an extensive discussion on Britmodeller about them

https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235067502-phantom-fgr2-reinforcement-plates/

From memory it should answer all our  questions
