HL-10
The battle of Isandlwana took place on the 22nd of January 1879 in Zulu Land, South Africa. A British force of at least 1700 was out manoeuvred and out fought by a force of 20000 Zulus. All British soldiers who fought on foot were killed, approximately 1500 in total. It is the worst defeat inflicted on a western army by tribal warriors. Unfortunately the victory was a Pyrrhic one. The Zulu's casualties were 3000 warriors killed, and ultimately it saw the destruction of their nation. Figures are white metal from Beneito Miniatures in 54mm. They were painted with Humbrol enamels. Thanks for looking Angelo lawman56, Cheetah11, SinuheH and 6 others

SinuheH
Superb diorama on a most interesting topic - reminds me to finally get down and read "The washing of the spears". HL-10
Gigant
Ever consider doing the Zulu stand-off at the Battle of Rorke's Drift in January 1879, as depicted in the classic movie "Zulu"?

ringleheim
Very nice looking diorama and figure painting. I always found "Zulu" and "Zulu Dawn" to be interesting movies. That British force at Isandlwana needed a couple MG-42s and history would have been different. Shows you the impact technology can have on warfare.
