Oldbaldguy
If this thing had made it to operational status, I wonder if it would have acquired those prominent vents in the rocket pods like those found on regular F-89s - a salvo of all those little HVARs would have made a bunch of blast/exhaust that would have to go somewhere. Great fan of Scorpions since I was a wee lad. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

As soon as I figure out how to make them in my 3d printer I will add them. Currently I am working on removing the existing wing roots from the fuselage. Also am figuring out how to get the re-designed aft fuselage done. Dan
Dandiego
Small progress. Pennies super glued into the nose. And wooden supports bolted to the plastic fuselage blank. Dan Troy Molitor, blackbetty, patricksparks and 2 others
Dandiego
I have cut off the old wing root fairings and have filled in the opening with sheet plastic. Oh.... and just the slightest smear of putty. Thats it, Dan LSP_Kevin, themongoose, johncrow and 4 others
Dandiego
A little work on the weapons pods. There are exhaust ports on the pods to expel rocket gases when they are fired. I determined where the exhaust ring should go and, using a miter box, cut the pods. I then 3d printed a slightly smaller ring which could be pushed into the main pod. There will be a gap between front and back sections to represent the exhaust ports. Easy..... as... pie. I have also glued one half of the fuselage to the keel. Dandiego
Hey everyone.... I received a Set of cockpit parts from John, Thanks John. I have been working on the jet intakes and compressor faces. Here are some parts with black primer. Also sprayed the interior of the intakes. And some preliminary work on getting the cockpit parts situated. Here I have gotten the 3D printed wheel wells into the center pod. Dandiego
Work continues. I have 3D printed the canopy frames. These were rather thick so I printed another set at half the thickness. I plan to glue the vac canopy on top of the frame. Here is the painted backseat radar setup. And the phantom cowling, still some changes to be made. Laminations to thicken up the tail. Some details of the cockpits. Dan Scotsman, Landrotten Highlander, Troy Molitor and 8 others

And just the slightest smear of Bondo to blend in the wing. Dan blackbetty, scvrobeson, Out2gtcha and 4 others
