GMK
334 hours of printing on this version, plus sanding, plus high build primer, plus gorilla glue, has gotten me to this. Lots more post processing to go, but the basic lower hull & stowage is more or less ready for actual modelling. dodgem37 and Uncarina
GMK
Some context shots: Most of the post-processing to date has been focussed on the outside of the lower hull so that assembly can be progressed. patricksparks, Out2gtcha, dodgem37 and 5 others
GMK
This vehicle will be fitted with the EOS R400 protected (remote) weapon station. Originally designed with 600mm diameter gun ring, the PWS requires the removal of the gun ring and the fitment of the base, with a hatch common to the rear topcover hatches. dodgem37, chukw, Uncarina and 1 other
GMK
Refined the hatch shape of the mount. This design replaced the mostly circular hatch cover of the original Platt gun ring with the same rectangular hatch cover as what is used for the top cover/air sentry toward the rear of the vehicle. Prep work on the hull, including industrial quantities of high-build primer, continues. Even managed a test print for size of the the wheel and spare wheel hubs. Here’s 418 hours of printing, so far. dodgem37 and Uncarina
Uncarina
Great work on this. It’s a beast! Cheers, Tom GMK
GMK
With the last pieces of the lower hull epoxied together & setting up, it was time to add a little bit of detail to the underside of the stowage bins. Reference pic of a Bushmaster having a little lie down after a long day (nobody hurt, thankfully): Which shows the corrugations present on the underside of the bins themselves: Some more cleanup, but looking good. patricksparks, dodgem37 and Uncarina

GMK
Designed & printed version 0 of the fuel cell to validate the geometry and dimensions. Will likely finalise the detailed design by the end of this weekend. dodgem37, Uncarina and Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
Wow, that looks terrific! Too bad you couldn't tempt someone like Panda/Kitty Hawk or other to buy the CAD off of you. I'm sure it would be a hit! Uncarina and GMK 1

Well, refined as industry production, maybe not, but it would be a grand starting place for a AFV company. GMK

GMK
Some good progress this week, including some new tools. Firstly, I was shown a new (to me) glue, ideal for welding PLA together, rather than gorilla glue & CA. The first elements of the new printer have started to arrive. The small black mat is the current printer bed size; the far, far larger mat is for the incoming printer. Exciting stuff. The second version of the fuel cell is a big improvement over the initial print. After some serious gluing using Gorilla Glue (pre Plastic Magic) over the last two weeks, the basic lower hull & stowage are now together. Now that basic assembly is done, it’s time to prep and paint the interior. dodgem37
mambodan72
Very interested to see how this turns out, I caught a ride in one of these when I was in East Timor in '99, the best thing about them was the Air conditioning! Great work GMK
