True, although just to confuse the issue, some F3s had long-chord engine nacelles, and a few F4s had full-span wings.  Only two ways to tell the difference if in doubt: the serial number; and there's a small intake on the top of the F3 engine nacelle, if you look head-on it's at 11 o'clock.

 

A good start, and good luck.  I'm a bit of a Meatbox fan, so I'll follow with interest.
