DrDave
Made good progress The surface detail is raised and refined The cockpit opening large with rather a Spartan cockpit contains seat, PE belts, joystick and pedals with front and rear bulkhead The instruments are injection moulded with decals or a choice of layered PE Overall fit is pretty good once surfaces are scraped a little The wing to fuselage has needed a little settling on one side necessitating creating a small gap below to avoid one at the wing root on top It’s easily filled below The exhausts are not hollow and a bit crude I have used copper tube The only real issues I can see are the prop and spinner, not totally wrong per se, but many had a thicker wooden 2 blade with no spinner or a blunt spinner This spinner is pointy and the props have too narrow a root Edited May 26, 2020 by DrDave Typo Trak-Tor, shadowmare, LSP_Kevin and 6 others
DrDave
Very very reminiscent of special hobby A very good first effort in 1/32 which would benefit from a resin cockpit, exhaust, nose cone and prop to make it excellent. Hope they are working on those, or someone is very enjoyable Out2gtcha

hopkinspeter
That looks nice, do you have any pictures of the interior before you closed up the fuselage? Does your reference to it being 'spartan' refer to what's provided in the kit or the fact that there wasn't much in the real thing anyway? I have one of the Dora Wings kits on the way to me but haven't received it yet; for some reason the D.500/501/510 series has always been a favourite of mine ever since I built the Heller 1/72 ones ages ago...actually, on reflection, it was more than 30 years ago.....help! DrDave
I can’t find any ref pics of the cockpit, so it may well be spartan in reality. No throttle quadrant, levers etc. hopkinspeter
Alain Gadbois
I'm glad to see this build of an interesting (if somewhat obscure) aircraft. Would look great next to an Amiot 143... Alain

The thicker wooden 2-blade sans spinner is for the D.501. The 3-metal blade blunt spinner is the D.510. Both versions are to be released next. I admit that the prop included in the D.500 is none too convincing. Good luck with your build, Cheers, Quang
DrDave
Cockpit looks realistic then! i might see if I can make a spare wnw prop fit the spinner.

Thanks for that, it will certainly be helpful when my kit arrives.....I did try looking online, but could find very little about the D.500 in general and almost nothing about its interior.
