chuck540z3
My latest cockpit of the 1/24 Airfix F6F-5 Hellcat, modified quite a bit with Airscale Instrument Panels (& decals) and Adriatic Models resin parts. Stokey Pete
I’ll pop this in here, the monster ‘Flanker’ is still a work in progress owing to choosing the ridiculously labour intensive digital scheme. Here’s the office before the fuselage was sewn up, and the pilot was headless. And, here he is installed. chuck540z3, Rick Griewski, Citadelgrad and 10 others
Greif8
Here is a contribution to this thread of really beautiful master level cockpits; hopefully it is worthy. The pit belongs to the WNW Sopwith Pup I am currently building. The only things I added were control cables and bracing wire. I am also trying out a new (for me) technique to replicate wood. A bit closer. Rick Griewski, Buster99, Greg W and 9 others

Uncarina
Great work Stokey Pete and Ernest! Having just finished an SU-33 cockpit seeing the SU-27 certainly looks like the real deal, and Ernest, you did a great job simulating the wood effects. Treehugger
I am often envious of those people manage to do so much with their cockpits in models. Admittedly this below is Aires resin in 1:48 for F-14A (Academy Tomcat ugh). I thought, "Well, I am not in the mood for overthinking this". So I focused on crisp lines on the helmet/visors, and being careful painting the black and yellow on the ejection seat handles over the chairs. I also added some flourescent green for the radar display, I thought that looked ok. I never quite finished working on this. I had added a gloss coat and maybe a satin varnish, but unfortunately is isn't good enough imo. Not quite sure what to do. Presumably, I could use some more contrast between matt and satin, and then I should perhaps have added more color to this, maybe decals on the helmets. Ah, I forgot. I brushed over gently with silver, I thought that looked nice, but I probably added a silver color to things I shouldn't have. The green'ish clothing doesn't look right imo, maybe too shiny and maybe not the correct green. I should add: Close up photos are very revealing, a small comfort is that from some distance, a scale model tends to look very nice when you don't get to focus on every little thing that might stand out on close inspection, like pits, scratches, vague detailing and such. All the more impressive for you guys/girls if your model/cockpit looks nice even with close up photos. John1
Dayum! That is some very nice work. Do you have a build log going, I’d love to see more pics.
Timmy!
Thanks guys. That one was built over ten years ago. The build threads have since died from shittay ImageShack changing their business model.
Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Here's one to be going on with, Tamiya's lovely Mosquito butchered by yours truly. Instrument panel is a mix of Yahu and Eduard, with Eduard etched steel belts. I'm making two models, one for a mate. Here's the two Gee boxes with Eduard fascias. A few years ago I bulk built 4 Fw-190 D models from Hasegawa and added Yahu and Eduard IP's, HGW belts and god knows what else. and there are another 8 almost at this stage now. Plus some A series. And some PCM Ta-152 kits! Here's a couple close up with the engine inserts. The 4 IP's ready to be fitted. Revell's Me-262 Night Fighter seats. Seats in and adding the rear IP. I think the seat belts are Fine Molds. Seats for 3 Das Werk Ef-126 kits. Pretty sure the belts are Eduard colour etch steel. A couple of the cockpit floors. One of the IP's. Oh well, love them or loathe them, they are what they are. Regards, Bruce Crosby Buster99, coogrfan, Greg W and 6 others
LSP_Ray
Hmmm...apparently my definition of 'butchered' varies greatly from your definition! Great job(s)!
