I am not sure, if I am the only one surprised, but due to the information from Nymburk Model forum, Kovozavody is preparing a Delfin in 1/32 injection kit. It is prepared in cooperation with HPH as a commemoration of their first kit.

I just hope, that this is not a late april fool.

Wow...

Mirek from HpH has just posted the following in the Vendors Board:

Quote

Today - April 16th was exactly 50 years when the first Czechoslovak plastic model - Aero L-29 Dolphin - was presented to the public at the Consumer Goods Fair in Brno at the Kovozávodů Prostějov stand. By the end of 1993, more than 1.5 million kits of this type had been pressed from the original forms from today's perspective unreal! And symbolically on this anniversary day we bring information about the first 32-second model of the company Kovozávody Prostějov, which should appear on the model market in the summer. Again, it will be the model Aero L-29 Dolphin. The sprayed kit is prepared in cooperation with the company HpH / Infinity Models and the basis is based on the previously released resin kit of this manufacturer. So we can look forward to a great surface in the style of HpH models combined with a lot of detail. The beautiful picture on the box was painted by Jaroslav Velc and symbolically closed the line of the original Kovartavers Prostejov boxart from the 70s-80s, because only the model L-29 Dolphin was sold all the time with the original drawing of Mr. Balous. Inserted poster with the title image should be part of the kit. In this thread we will continuously provide information about this model.

Well, if I remember well, main wheel struts were rectangular in cross section on that old kit.

But anyway, imagine what a revolution it was behind the iron curtain. Just putting this on a must have list.

I got mine in a similar way! I answered an ad in a IPMS Journal  back in 1982 and started a correspondence with an Aeroflot pilot that lasted until 2016, when he fell off the face of the earth ( I think he passed away as he told me he had 4 heart attacks before he disappeared completely). Anyway, he was a modeler, too, and we traded a ton of stuff. Had a stack of KP models at one time.

Fun fact: he told me when he finally retired as an airline pilot: couldn't afford to bribe the doctor to overlook his heart problems for the periodic physical anymore!

Had a lot of the KP kits back in the day (early '80s...).

The Delfin was the first HpH kit I acquired, just after it was released - I still haven't built it!  :(
