Alex
What trick do y'all have for replacing (sunken, not raised) rivets that get sanded away when cleaning up fuselage seams? I know that people use pounce wheels to make linear runs of rivets on kits that don't have them, but I'm focused more on restoring just a few, usually on a curved surface near a seam. I have tried using a pin held in a pin vise, but it tends to make a deep hole with a raised rim, versus the shallow, rounded or conical depressions that the molded-in rivets are. Is a blunted or rounded-off pin the best option? Or is there a trick? Thanks for your advice BiggTim
Zank_Frappa
I'm also not a big fan of the way that those riveting wheels make rivets. UMM-USA makes a beading tool that does a very nice job at representing individual rivets. Alternatively, I've also used a little embossing set I bought on amazon. Also, you might have seen it already, but there's a good article here on LSP that goes through a few different types of tools to use. I've linked it here.
