Bell X-1 Revell/Monogram 1/32
Painted with Tamiya and Mr. Hobby paints. Weathering is done with AMMO MIG and AK INTERACTIVE.
Base is made with AK Crackle Effects.
I've modified hatch lid, rescriber raised panel lines, added a few wires behind the instrument panel and basically that's all. Hope you'll like it :)

Very nice! I like how the base turned out; a nice representation of the dry mud flats.

I'm glad that you like it.

"Put the spurs to er Chuck"....."Hey Riddly...got any Beemans"!!! Great looking X-1!

Rogers Dry Lake looks good too! My dad was stationed at Edwards from 1958-1964

I met Chuck Yeager at a gun club meeting my dad took me to. Got his autograph as well.

Your lucky to have the glamorous Glennis decals too...That's been kinda outlawed by his new wife.

Great job on a milestone of aviation!

Cheers....Ron

Hello friend.

I am planing to buy just the same kit.

It is a good kit?

Good fit? I like yours, very nice... What tips can you share with us?

Thanks

Marcelo

Thanks!

It's very nice kit although keep in mind two things: it's not Tamiya and it's an old one. I'll point below what is important:

-panel lines are raised, It's good to rescribe them.

-cockpit is quite detailed but you have to add some wires to rear side of instrument panel

-main gear doors actuators are wrong placed. You have to use photos, not instruction.

-no mater what they say...Mr Hobby H14 is good color for X-1 :)

-because model is molded in grey, you need to use white primer.

-you get nice rocket engine but it'll be invisible

-both Pitot's tubes are too thick and they need to be replaced

-model is tail-heavy and needs to me weighted in front

-fit is good but after rescribing and sanding there will be some puttying and fitting for sure
