Mark M
Hi guys, nice simple OOB build just to get me back in the game, will be starting next week only thing to really think about is which scheme the classic 'Glennis' or this Lee White, Trak-Tor, kkarlsen and 4 others
Dave Williams
Was the original X-1 still painted orange after April 1949 when NATO formed? It might have been all white by then.
Mark M
thts a very good question ok this image is dated Jan 49 however on diggin in Aug 49 it was still orange and the serial number confirms it, so i think its good to go BradG and Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
Wow, very cool! Id say go for 6062 as it really looks good with the white and orange. Besides, it seems like most everyone doing an X-1 does GG. 10 hours ago, Mark M said: Mark M and Dutch Man
Mark M
so here we go, however i dont think this will take too long, im going OOB for this one after an hour this morning however i have hit a stumbling block, i dont have any orange, well thats not true, i have some hataka orange, but im hit and miss with them, this is a new bottle out of a set, ill give it a go (it is orange when shaken) Alain Gadbois, Out2gtcha and BradG

Mark M
can anyone confirm this? Alain Gadbois
Alain Gadbois
Interesting! Looks white of course, and also the fairing under the fuselage. I would be looking for more photos to confirm the colors under the wings. Alain Mark M
Mark M
The under fuselage but is white but it's the first time I've seen the wing
Alain Gadbois
Me too, I never noticed this. I guess it is for the same reason rockets have a unique white/black pattern. We are naturally not used see a non symetrical paint job. Mark M
Landrotten Highlander
Looks to me based on the B&W picture that the left wing is white, the right wing orange, while the fuselage has a white band at top and bottom and orange sides? Alain Gadbois
Found these two photos, curiously no markings are visible. Landrotten Highlander

Alain Gadbois
The Eduard kit instructions show 6062 with the exact paint scheme as in my above post, but with the added serial number and insignia. No insignia on the left wing top side though. The bottom side of the left wing is orange. Alain Mark M
