Well basically it's build a jet aircraft from one of the countries listed as a member of the organisations below during their relevant stay in said organisation.

NATO and Warsaw pact. Note the dates at which countries joined.

SEATO. September 1954 - June 1977 (member states only)

CENTO. February 1955 - March 1979.

So this could cover  F-14's, F/A-18's, Navy F-4's, A-4/7....

A couple of questions.

Does France count for the whole Cold War period?  They dropped out of the unified command structure in 1966 and didn’t return until long after the Cold War ended.

Is any aircraft by any member allowed, no matter where they were based, or just those based in the countries that are part of the organizations?  For example, could you do a Vietnam war F-4, or is it limited to F-4s based in NATO states?

France is included, they were still NATO members despite that.

They don't need to be based in that country or in a NATO country, just from that country so if you wanted to do an F-4 in Vietnam, that's fine.

This is way too complicated...:help:

It does require a touch more thought about what you will build, but all the links are here and will be in the rules of the road section. Pick a jet aircraft from one of the countries involved in the 4 pacts (NATO, Warsaw, SEATO, CENTO) during the time they were joined up (not everyone joined NATO at the same time for example)  and away you go.

Lots of choices, but a tough call for me on what to choose.  Need to get some build mojo going, but don’t want to start something that I’m going to just get frustrated with later and toss on the SOD.  Definitely interested in a Mirage IIIC or RD, but might turn into a frustrating build.  Also have the KH F-86K, which might be less frustrating with fit, but somewhat less interested in that.

The Mirage kits capture the look very well Dave  - but, having built two now - be prepared for a fair amount of test fitting, filling and re-shaping of parts - they aren't shake and bake...
