dennismcc
Nice to see progress on this one Iain, should give me a kick up the bum to finish mine ! Cheers Dennis
Iain
It was your build that had me crack on again with this one Dennis! Photos - or my latest works didn't happen, right? More later - perhaps... Iain GMK, LSP_Kevin, Greg W and 7 others
dennismcc
Looks just the job that Iain, it will look even better with a matt coat on which seems to really give them that period look, well that's what I think anyway. Cheers Dennis Iain
Iain
Absolutely - and those colours are a little out of whack in the photo due to the lighting. Lots of stuff to do before that, nervously applied, last varnish layer! Iain dennismcc
Pete Roberts
Looking brilliant Iain - lovely work mate. Iain
MikeMaben
Nice Iain , what brand of paint did you use ? Iain
Iain
Thanks both. Paint is a mix of Tamiya (lightened Sky) and Gunze Aqueous for the upper colours. Colours a little out of whack due to lighting - but, from experience - should look pretty well spot on after a coat of flat. Iain
OK, so aircraft codes sprayed - and the rest of the stickers stickered: Prop tips cropped - as per the original aeroplane! Colours gone a little wonky here - but it is 'Sky'... Weathering next - may even get her finished next weekend! To be honest, this has been hard work - partly because the kit needs a lot of fettling, and partly because this is very special to a good friend of mine... Blue skies... Iain
Half way through weathering the Fopp Hurricane - starting to come alive a little now. Using a mixture of inks, water based washes and oil paint. Matt coat will help - then some exhaust staining... Tally Ho! Iain
Thanks Kev... This has been hard work - but starting to look the part - at least hopefully! Feels strange to actually have a model at this stage - last one was a few years ago now... Iain
