Rivet counters of the world, unite!

It's not just modelers. There are local societies across the UK and no doubt elsewhere dedicated to researching everything there is to be known about the vessel and its voyage.

And mementos and related bric-a-brac still fetch premium prices at auction.

There is a huge museum in Pigeon Forge, TN, that draws quite the crowds.  I know it was a huge tragedy, but I have never understood the cult like level some people are with it.  Are there ones like that with the Hindenburg?

Agreed.

The best way to be happy on either side of the fence is to acknowledge that other side and that it not only exists, but some people feel much more comfortable on that side, whichever that is.

Let's cut to the chase....

Some guy is going to show up at a show in 3 years with one of these, with every detail done to a T.

...and I want to see it.

Make sure you check that Gymnasium door hey.

That's why I like to imagine the HKM Spey Phantom will be the best Phantom kit ever.

The breadth of crowdfunded knowledge on this site alone should provide a great deal more information than that immediately obvious to a model company researcher team.

At least, I fervently hope that's the case. If only Tan Model would instigate a similar outreach program, to maximise the accuracy of their long anticipated 1/32nd  long nose J79 projects..

Considering nobody's heard a peep out of Tan Model for a couple of years now, I'm not holding my breath that you'll ever see anything else out of them.

I remember it was a deal back after Sept. 11

Apparently it isn't anymore except under certain circumstances.
