I know mate, I just can’t wait! Did you see the open cowl  RR dart printed set a chap has done on fb? It looks stunning. I have asked (although it’s for a Viscount) if he might be interested in printing a special order of some in 1/32 for us.

I saw that too - was going to ping you guys as I had exactly the same thought!

Would be a nice addition to the kit, no?

I am like Iain and was planning on opening up an engine cowl as well. So no this a separate thing and you have no need to worry if you don’t want one

I’ll keep you all updated as I hear more on the upscale engine

cheers Anthony

He may also be able to sell these to Toshihiko's customers building in 1:72 and 1:48 too, for the Andover, 748 and NAMC YS-11 - so may be an opportunity for him?

I too would like to open up one of the engine bays, hence my comment of having this would be a nice addition to the kit.

Hi team

I will email you as a group about this to let you know Ladislav has contacted me saying he can print this in 1/32 for us!  14hours to print and I think he said it was big at 189mm. We are looking at 90GBP for a one off (not sure if more are cheaper) plus 25 for the cowls.

I will have to check and see how different the Viscount cowls are...

Initial research seems to show them as very very similar, if not the same.  Will keep studying from home here (under lockdown) as I will have full access to a Viscount to take measurements and study as well as the Andover at RNZAF Museum to compare.  But that's not happening for 4 weeks now

My understanding was they were the same as the Dart was a 'power egg' type application and, therefore, the same from the rear of 'Zone 2' forward - but don't quote me on that!

Possibly some difference on the bottom of the four cowl panels where the fairing ahead of the undercarriage bay abuts?

Don't want to commit to copies of Ladislav's engines just yet - until I know how much Toshihiko's mouldings have cost - including any import costs...

But very kind of him to offer!

Very cool on the open turbo prop!   That is the cost of a fairly nice whole 1/32nd kit at £115/$140 USD and seems like it would be a hard thing to justify.............but the heart wants what the heart wants! Ive spent some crazy numbers on a model or two, so really no room for me to talk.
