HotWaffle
Ammo box, throttle cables, MG mounts and synch gear cable installed: A minor disaster occurred when I accidentally pushed in the front of the Gaspatch LMG: Nothing a little wire can't fix, however. It's not perfect, but it can be hidden easily. Tnarg, MikeMaben, Landrotten Highlander and 2 others
Greif8
Great job on the cabling and your fix of the Spandau cooling Jacket is excellent. I will be building a Pfalz DIIIa next so this is very educational for me.
HotWaffle
Put the finishing touches on the interior. I've left off the guns to make painting easier. A better view of the pipes aft of the engine... ... and in the sidewalls. I didnt put in too much work into the synch gear bits, as they'll be covered up almost completely. Onto gluing it all together. Landrotten Highlander, BiggTim, LSP_Kevin and 6 others

HotWaffle
Stuck the halves together. Part A42 took a bit of filing to make the halves meet correctly. Lower wing on, gaps primed and filled. Onto sanding and smoothing the bits tomorrow. Landrotten Highlander, LSP_Kevin and AlbertD
HotWaffle
I wrangled with the gap filling for a bit. It took a few tries to get it right, but I eventually got there. Once I did, I put the tail on and masked the interior stuff. Meanwhile, I primed and put down the first grey marble coat on the control surfaces and bits that are going to be painted straight aluminum. This was followed by a light white marble coat. And then the aluminum and dope coats. The marbling doesnt show up super well on my phone, but it has a nice subtle effect IRL. ringleheim
It's all coming along very nicely! I love your "skin" as well. Looks fantastic! Nice color scheme!
HotWaffle
Priming finished. I printed out part of the skin for Flying Circus on some decal paper, using it as a template for masks and a measuring guide. Masks on. Paint on, masks off. There a re a few odd spots that will require some careful touchups. Inbetween all of this, I painted up the prop used XF-59 as a base color followed by drawing in the grain with a pair of watercolor pencils. I'm not satisfied with the color, so I'm giving it another go using XF.57 as the base color. HotWaffle
Progress has mostly stopped as my airbush took a tumble off the desk and broke the needle chuck. The only thing i've been able to work on is the propellor. I used the same method as the previous prop with an oil wash at the end. I'll add a light coat of clear yellow once my airbrush arrives. Subodai
So I have to admit, I opened this thread and got the last post first and was like. Holy cow, his first LSP is made of wood?! Then went back to appreciate all the work so far and read up to here, that's some _very_ nice work on that prop wood effect! Had me fooled for a second there!! dodgem37
Very nice. Do you have a source for your ribbed piping? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark BiggTim
