Palm-tree
Keep up the great work, looking very nice. yahu make really nice instrument panels for the spitfire. Wish Tamiya would do a PR Spitfire....it looks like they considered it at some stage for a possible future project as the inside of the underwing panels have moulded recesses to accommodate the PR cameras. The big challenge is getting the canopy with the enlarged teardrop blisters to look correct. Watching your build with interest, all the best, P-T
Wackyracer
Sanded the top of the wings and rescribed the new panels. Gun covers and such were super glued before sanding. Afternoons efforts Have a grey matters retractable wheel so super glued the original panels as with the wings and made templates for the cuts for the doors. Quick check that everything is still fitting well. Aaron Fanes, LSP_Kevin, Anthony in NZ and 6 others
Wackyracer
Good old Halfords grey plastic primer to check for errors and touch ups. Somebody asked what the join was like on the wing root where I'd cut. Anthony in NZ, Derek B, TAG and 5 others 7
Fanes
Coming along nicely! One little thing - I'm not sure if it has already been mentioned: the rivets on the wing were puttied from the leading edge until the wing spar.

Wing has had more sanding since these pics and the rivets are more a suggestion now. I'll post some more pics later

Wackyracer
Hours of work without too much to show but I guess that's how it goes sometimes. Cut out the 2 bubbles for the canopy sides. Fiddled about with the front canopy and finding a secure and sturdy way to install but struggling to be honest. Finally got some paint on the pit and installed the IP and new camera control. Sprayed the front of the IP with Mr Paint superflat and the dials with Gunze gloss, than stuck together. touched up the left hand side with a brush but this didn't dry matt so will spray again then re-gloss the dials. Thanks Cees, I have several pics in various shades from black to light grey, but some of these are refurbished pits so not sure which way to go. I will probably go over it with a dark grey just to add some contrast. like I said in my post just got some black down to give me a base.
thierry laurent
There were different types and different colors but the most common one used on the PRXI was indeed mid grey.
