Gloster Gladiator Mk. I to Mk. II differences

Recommended Posts

Just as the title says gents, Im looking to do a Gladiator, but am not familiar enough with the differences between the Mk. I and Mk. II.

From what I can tell,  the main differences are a slightly more powerful  engine (not a huge deal to me visually) with different mixture control boxes and a partly automatic boost control carburetor (also not a huge deal to me).

The Mk. II also had the fixed-pitch three-blade metal propeller, instead of the two-blade wooden one of the Mark I. This is not a problem for me either, as the Mk. II scheme I want to do has the Mk. I 2 bladed wooden prop on it.

I've also heard that all MK II Gladiators carried Browning 0.303-inch machine guns in place of the Vickers-Lewis combination of the MK I?

An inquiring mind wants to know!
