Advice for PE Slats on my F-100

Recommended Posts

Hey Gang I could use some help before doing the next step on my Hun. I’ve read that these are a “1 attempt only” part so I don’t want to mess it up.

They look like steel rather than brass. Pics I’ve seen in posts look like they were annealed before rolling them. Can I anneal steel. Could anyone confirm this?
Any hints or tips from you guys who have done something like this before? There’s quite a few individual tabs to try and get down all at once. I feel like I’m bound to have 1 sitting proud of the plastic after putting on the CA.

Just for completeness. Yes you can, and in exactly the same way as brass - the annealing temperature is near enough the same for your purposes. Only this bit:

Eduard parts are brass covered with an ultrathin layer having a steel look.

Would suggest it has been nickel plated, which may come off when you heat it up

Yep, whatever plating was on there definitely came off when heated  No worries tho as I am foiling the plane. I cleaned it up and covered it up!

Thanks all for your input. Definitely valuable. So far looking pretty good. I have them both done now as of this morning. Time to move on to some more painting and foiling.
