kkarlsen
Thanks chaps! I know it's not the most 'inspirational' paint scheme. I think I'm going to try and 'beef' it up with some salt weathering... it was a seaplane after all. Troy Molitor
When you say it’s not the most inspirational paint scheme, I have to disagree. Something different for sure but really colorful in its own way. The docking trolleys are also interesting. I’m really enjoying these post war livery builds. kkarlsen
kkarlsen
Masking & weathering... Last markings I needed was the numbers. For this I had help from fellow modeler Thomas Lund, who own's a Silouette cutter. He drev the numbers from jpg's I send him and voila! masks for the '25' numbers on the Fuselage. Letters are painted with Vallejo 'Stencil'. Same procedure on the bottom wings. The large '25' are painted with Vallejo Nato black. For the basic weathering I've used Flory Models Dark dirt... The weathered floats. The wings have been weathered with the 'Flory' wash... To add some texture to the grey areas, a 'light' version of the salt weathering technique has been used, adding a subtle variation to the surface. This technique makes the dull grey surface so much more interesting... Now I think it's time to assemble the build before adding anything, just to get an overview... I'm not, I haven't been able to find it in the duellist boxing. Can't remember if I ever saw it, or if it was even there when I got the kit. So now I've bend a piece of brass rod and hope that this will do the trick? Fingers crossed... Uncarina
Fantastic work Kent! Now I’m curious about that metal spar. My kit didn’t include one. Was this supposed to be added to the Duelist boxing? Cheers, Tom kkarlsen
