Steve Eagle
I am working on a German aircraft kit that has photoetch external balance weights. Unfortunately since PE is 2D, I am looking for some techniques to add 3D dimension to these parts. I have some ideas on what I want to do, but would like some member input. jimbo
That can indeed be an issue; I sometimes add a drop of white glue, but it can shrink and wrinkle if too much is used. Epoxy is probably a better bet. HTH. Jimbo
europapete
hiya, you can build up thickness with CA, or cut plasticard the same shape and glue the PE to the visible surface. Regards Pete in RI
edfifer
I'd also observe that just because a part comes in photoetch doesn't mean it must be used. Sometimes the best use of a photo etched part is as a pattern to fabricate the part out of some other material. For example, one can try to thicken photoetch meant to represent tubing, or one can just replace the photoetch with rod or wire of the appropriate diameter. This may not be the case in your instance, but it's worth noting. jimbo and USMC Herc
