dmthamade
That kit is a PITA to do, lots of places to go bad. You did a fine job. Did you use the kit nose gear? Don
Grizly
For dmthemade, fortunately I didn't experience any discomfort in that somewhat sensitive area of ones body during my build. As for the nose gear (and main gear), yes, I used the kit parts and don't recall having any issues with it. MikeMaben and dmthamade 1

FunkyZeit
Very nice! Absolute terd of a kit. Maybe Tamiya will save us with a 1/32 dmthamade
Grizly
FunkyZeit, while I don't share you assessment of the kit, I do agree that Tamiya could produce a better kit. But how much better and for what price? dmthamade
dmthamade
A Trumpeter P-38 in 1/32 would be great to see. I had some fit issues on mine along with having to engineer some stuff to overcome areas where Trumpeter could have done better. Did over come them, along with filling most of the rivets that covered...everything!!!In the end i'm happy with the build, but did take a lot of work. Grizly
dmthamade - very nice build and I can understand how the rivets were of concern with your metal finish. I had similar issues with rivets with Trumpeter's P-47. In my case, the P-38's OD/grey finish minimized the appearance of the rivets considerably. TimHepplestone
Thanks ever so much. Think that will prove helpful. Solves what seems to be the Achilles heel of many P38 1/48 kits as well
