Azgaron
In an attempt to get something done before this GB ends, I'll start a new kit, or rather an old one! Might be crazy, but I intend to build it entirely ootb. I started with the cockpit parts and cleaned them up. I also assembled the backrest parts and one part on top of the IP. Not det best details seen on a 1/32 kit, but it doesn't get much better this time, except adding some ejection handles. Azgaron
In order to get this one done quickly, I had decided to build it ootb. That didn't last long! I just needed to do something about the seat. I know there's a nice quickboost seat, but I wanna try and see what I can do myself. I started by removing the side panels from the backrest. Then I cut of the headrest and made it thinner. I also made side panels for the seat and glued the upper part of the side panels to the headrest. I did a small test fit to see how it looked. A bit ugly at the moment, but I'll sort that. I'll add belts and some other details to spice it up a bit. I hope I'm not making it worse. My intention is only to improve the Revell kit detail, not make an replica of the the real seat. I've also did some re-scribing of the fuselage. Not many lines to re-scribe, so it went fairly quick. Need to sort a few mistakes though. Håkan BradG, LSP_Kevin, D.B. Andrus and 1 other
Azgaron
I added some plumbing and details so the seat. The headrest fell off so I need to correct the plumbing later. Next I need to make some belts to replace the ones I shaved off. I think I'll shave off those on the seat too. I'm thinking of using magic sculp to make the belts. Sometimes hard to see how they should look as they lay in a heap on the seat. I've also layed a first cote of colour on the cockpit tub. Not quite dry yet, but I might need to do one more layer to look good! Håkan blackbetty, D.B. Andrus, BradG and 1 other
Azgaron
Added some belts made of Magic Sculpt. A bit hard to make thin belts, but I'm quite happy with the result! A few more details and it's ready for paint. Håkan Dany Boy, Alain Gadbois, D.B. Andrus and 4 others
Azgaron
I've been doing some work since last time. First the seat got some paint and the cockpit tub got re-painted. No pics on that though. Then I improved the kit control stick somehat (hopefully). I made some rudders and glued into place. The stick got some paint. Perhaps a tad big, but I can live with that. Instrument panel painted i grey. Then I added some detail paint in black and added the instrument decals. Lastly I did a quick test fit of the cockpit parts. Wash and some dirt and it'll look a lot better than it did from the start. Håkan LSP_Kevin, Dany Boy, blackbetty and 1 other

Azgaron
I did a wash and some dirtying up (very little) of the cockpit. I noticed I missed a little when trimming the decals. I'll sort that asap. Other than that I think I'll consider the cockpit done and will start putting the fuselage together. There are two decals for the black side panels, that I'm considering as there's no detail to pick out with dry brushing. Or just leave them black as they are. Speaking of decals, I've decided not to use the kit ones. Instead I'm considering a set for the BoB paint scheme. Could look nice I think. Azgaron
It was a bit fiddly to get the fuselage together. For some reason I installed the canards according to the instruction. It didn't take long before they broke off, one after the other. I have to put them in a proper angle later. Usually they're tilted forward according to many of the pics I've seen. I've assembled the engine, nose and radar dish. Not sure if I'm going to expose the engine or the radar, even if the nose has a hinge to make it movable. I've also started re-scribing the wing halves. A bit hard to see in the pic though. Not many panel lines to re-scribe, which makes it fairly easy. I have some filling and sanding to do on the fuselage, then I'll glue the wings. I just hope the small stubbs on the body is enough, even if the contact area is pretty large. Azgaron
The leading edge doesn't look so good. Some sanding took care of that. Forgot to take a picture though. Getting the wings in place, was a bit of a struggle. I think Revell made the tabs far too short to hold the wings. So I decided to try using tubes in different sizes to strenghten the wing joints. So off with the tabs! When cutting the inner tube, I accidently shot away half the tube, and for some reason couldn't find it. I solved that problem by using a bit of sprue, that fit quite good into the large tube. I first added rods/tubes to one of the wings to see how things did fit, but drilling out holes in the fuselage turned out to be a bit of a problem, as the wall inside was in the way for the rear hole. After using my Dremel wannabe, I could fit a shorter lenght of tube into the rear hole. After some adjustment I could glue the first wing onto the fuselage. Some filling to do, and then the underside looks like this! Quite a gap to sort. Much of it can be solved with CA and some mild violonce. After some more work I got the other wing in place. I got some filling and sanding to do. Håkan BradG and LSP_Kevin
