Timmy!
There’s actually a pretty good article about it by the Smithsonian. I think that dude got the most bruises. Pilot and Copilot, not a scratch. Pete Fleischmann
Hawkwrench
There was a episode on that incident ( don't remember what show). They interviewed him and he told them the roll is what threw him free and the helo actually rolled on top of him, but the deep snow kept him from being crushed to death. Darn lucky to be alive after that!!! Tim Pete Fleischmann and Derek B

scvrobeson
That looks so incredibly good. Pretty real. What's the reason for the different colored bands on the hub? So they don't get the blades mixed up? Matt Pete Fleischmann
Marcel111
Phew the beauty of that tail rotor has my head spinning... Cheers, Marcel Pete Fleischmann

Hawkwrench
Crying out loud Pete, that looks real--except that your missing the safety wire on the pitch beam locknut!!! Winnie
Shouldn't that think be solid black from exhaust stains?? Ya know soot? Outstanding work though! Pete Fleischmann

Timmy!
Meh...maybe a Charlie Hotel but the rotor wash will push most of the shirt down before it gets to the tail rotor. Dust and greasy dust is my recommendation. Pete Fleischmann

Nope, the T/R sits too high to be affected by exhaust stains. Never seen an Army or AF hawk with stains from the exhaust. Before the UES, the hawks had the HIRSS style exhaust (which is what Pete's model depicts) and those exhausts blow down and slightly away from the tailboom. Matt The M/R and T/R parts on the hawks are color coded, not really the bladed too much although I have seen the blade cuffs marked sometimes. The T/R system on a hawk actually has only 2 paddles instead of 4 blades. 2 blades connected by a spar equals 1 paddle. All multiple bladed helicopters have the color coded system through out all the military. Tim scvrobeson and Pete Fleischmann
