nmayhew
hi guys just stumbled across this - quite cool the picture and sound are very high quality and no bs music or idiot commentators in the background! https://youtu.be/CDeglorsv_8 not sure what engine is in the Fw190 / whether it is original? maybe if you have similar cool links post them on this thread? always gives me goose bumps! alaninaustria
What an awesome video, loved to hear the sound of the engine growling away!! I do believe that this FW-190 A8 is a FlugWerk reproduction that uses the Russian radial engine AsH 82T. Correct me if I’m wrong! Cheers Alan Post script: this is the rebuilt FlugWerk Fw-190 that was bellied landed on a beach in France in 2010, after the engine quit and it sank as the tide came in. A german investor has paid for the restoration and it is now part of the Hangar 10 collection in Germany. Very nice to see her back flying! Shawn M
Alan, I think that has the P&W not the Ash in it, I may be mistake though so dont take me as 100000% lol Edited October 21, 2019 by Shawn M
Shawn M
and blammo if I'd have read the comments: If you wonder what engine the Fw190 has. Its an Ash 82-T 14cyl. double row radial with the power and size comparable to the original BMW 801 engine. It was build in Karl Marx Stadt/Chemnitz. So even though it`s a russian design, the engine is still a german engine, at least kind of. nmayhew

Very nice to see her back flying! And that certainly explains the lack of a proper swastika on the tail of the '190. Out2gtcha

ringleheim
Nice video and great quality too. Gives you a flavor of what it would have been like to see these planes when they were new.
nmayhew
same channel, P-47 start up (LOTS of smoke!) and display https://youtu.be/WrXbOQtGkto what a beast the P-47 is I know it's big and all that every time I open my Trumpeter boxes, but it's only when you see thing start up with the pilot inside looking like a flea you realise what a monster this aircraft is the Spitfire will always be my love, but if I was 'gaming' WWII and was limited to just one single engined aircraft type, this would be it Edited October 30, 2019 by nmayhew it would help if I put the bloody link in!
