sandbagger
Hi Kensar, I've built this model so have been following your build with great interest. It's a great kit and you are more than doing it justice. The use of water based Acrylic oil paints is covered on pages 53 - 55 in the downloadable PDF build log for the Sopwith 'Camel', which is in Gallery 2 on my site. 'DecoArt' crafters acrylic paints - I use these paints for all wood finishes and have found them to be much better than traditional oil paints, especially as they dry within a hour, don't need 'draining' of linseed oil, they're not 'gritty' at all and can be sealed with lacquer or acrylic clear coats. R Palimaka
This is exquisite and delicate work you're doing! Learning a lot just by watching. The woodgrain is completely convincing. Looking forward to following this one. Richard

kensar
An update to catch up with the build: I replaced the kit detail with some more realistic parts - spokes and valve stem. Weathered wheels. Wheel hubs were turned out on the lathe. The ends of the LG axles got some thread bungie cord and metal retaining pieces. Test fit of the wheels. Weathering will begin soon. Thanks for looking. Trak-Tor, Uncarina, Gazzas and 6 others
