Scratchbuilding techniques

Hi guys,

I am am looking into the feasibility of scratchbuilding a reasonably large aircraft in 1/32 and am trying to think of a way of constructing it. The real aircraft has a fabric covered fuselage with large wooden wing. The engine is available from a commercial manufacturer.

Are there any sites I could have a look at to work out how I will be able to build it? Basic techniques of large structures etc?

Eric.

There are tons of good info and incredible models in such two books. However, they are quite 'dry' to read and the format is really old fashioned with a lot of text. Unfortunately no better reference can be recommended for plane scratchbuilding. A good, user-friendly book with many pictures showing WIP of advanced LSP scratchbuilt projects and development of related techniques has yet to be done...

I have both these books and they are excellent.  With that stated, Megas Tsonos's articles in Air Modeller magazine are a very valuable more modern set of tutorials for scratchbuilding aircraft.  Not WW1 but the principles aren't era specific.
