Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Some more work on the Mistel. Nose wheel: Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Bogie unit: Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr RATO unit with the start of a frame, the start of some markings, maybe the start of the end phase? Still missing one strut on the number 1 (Port outer) but you can see some of the fuel point markings. Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Whew! Even more? This was the hard part: trying to fit the hand made cables to the back of the axle housings. Eventually I used fine lead wire to represent the breaking wire holding the cables up, based on a photo in a book on the Ar-234A Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr The other axle. Note the fine lead wire running to the chute release pin and the White for the Nylon chute lanyard. Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, I finished the model of the Mistel last night just a few minutes before I had to jump in the car and go to the model club without actually taking any photos, so the following were taken at the hall we use. The Club is Wiltshire Scale Modeller's Society and we are a very friendly bunch. Tea, coffee and real chocolate biscuits every meeting! Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr My attempt at a Mistel! Should have some decent photos up tomorrow but this is your lot for now. mozart
Saw Bruce's Mistal on Thursday's club night, to say that it's an impressive build in every aspect is an understatement - the chute pack alone is a work of art! An ambitious and unusual build subject but beautifully done.
TorbenD
Epic! Lovely work Bruce, very unusual combo pulled off with much aplomb Torben mozart
BlackCanopy
Fantastic! Positively Sci-fi. How were the pilots supposed to get into the cockpit during an alarm start? Backflipping by way of a trampoline?
Bruce_Crosby
To BlackCanopy: how would you get in? A ladder. And an alarm start? It’s a stand-off bomber against planned static targets, not a fighter on QRA. There is no alarm, simples. If you read back a bit I’ve explained the ethos of this build, based on actual Mistel operations with Fw-190/Ju-88 combos. Kais
