This a great build.  your 20 mm master come from the Elco pt boat sets?

At one time I wanted to build the LST that they used for Viet Nam for the Sea Wolves helo pads.

hello all,

Vandy : the 20mm is from PT conversion kit by Italeri.

next up date is regarding vents, there are 3 different types, this the largest one

Very nice!  I wish I had those plastic forming skills.  I just butcher the plastic to some shape that "resembles" what I need and go with that....  Now if I were able to do what you do, I'd be much better off.  Care to share how you design, cut and manufacture such things like the hatches, vents, and the loading/unloading ramp?  I'm quite sure there are a lot of us who'd benefit from such a tutorial (for lack of a better word).

hello all,

Juggernut I will post how I made it, hopefully you will benefit from it. I do not have any photo reference how I made the vegitable locker, but I do have photo's regarding build main mast.

2019-07-31%2010.55.16.jpg

into place on vehicle deck

2019-08-16%2014.24.01.jpg

main mast dry fitted with radar on top, radar is by Italeri from the PT conversion set

2019-08-16%2014.26.57.jpg

I made the yardarm  , main mast in the back, with a working platform in between2019-08-16%2016.26.11.jpg

the eyes in the yardarm are made with a drill, insert a thin wire and than drill

2019-08-16%2016.19.00.jpg

2019-08-16%2016.20.03.jpg

thickness of the drill is 0.9mm, this will be also the diametre of the eye, cut to lenght and glue. The making of the platform is straight forward, draw 2 circles on a piece of sheet, cut out and sand, drill a hole for the mast, a piece of strip is glued in the center resembling a support and a piece of sheet is glued  on the side.

2019-08-16%2016.45.28.jpg

the platform is glued in place, then the yardarm, this is how it looks
